Sikkuy Co-Directors Speak

Dear Friends,

Join us for a great opportunity to learn about the current state of Jewish-Arab relations in Israel.  We have invited the co-executive directors of an outstanding Israeli organization called Sikkuy, which means “Opportunity” in Hebrew, to share their work in advancing equality between the Arab and Jewish citizens of Israel. Along with the directors Ron Gerlitz, Amjad Shbita (in-coming), and Rawnak Natour (out-going) we will be joined by members of the Berkeley Giving Circle and other people concerned about Israel’s future for an evening of frank conversation and generating support for this effective organization.

Sikkuy is a shared Jewish-Arab organization that works to achieve a shared and democratic society by advancing equality for all Israeli citizens in government budgets, resource allocations, employment, land and planning, access to government services, and shared public space. Sikkuy is jointly governed, managed, and staffed by Arab and Jewish citizens. www.sikkuy.org.il/eng

The Sikkuy co-executive directors will be speaking about Sikkuy’s efforts, activities, and plans for the future; the status of relations between Jewish and Arab citizens in the post-election era; and the challenges of operating within the current complex and conflicted environment in Israel. They are great presenters, and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

Come and enjoy delicious desserts, drinks, and illuminating conversation.  Tuesday  May 14 7:30 – 9:30
