From Jilly de la Torre, Project Coordinator at Youth Spirit Artworks:

We are starting up our builds again! Yay! We will be continuing to build every Saturday going forward. Please feel free to come out to our build day this Saturday at 633-C Hegenberger Road in Oakland. The build will start around 9:30 am and will last until around 4:00 pm. Please come wearing a mask, and be prepared to social distance. Please also sign a volunteer waiver and the sign-in sheet when you arrive. We will provide individually packaged lunches, water, and snacks. We are especially in need of help from folks skilled/experienced in construction – but, as always, folks of all skill levels are welcome to join! Please let me know if you are planning to attend this weekend’s build.

Grand Opening of the Tiny House Empowerment Village!

Friday April 2nd, 11:00am to 12:00pm PDT

Did you join us online for the Grand Opening Celebration – Kehilla volunteers were there in person with Seder-Plate-in-a-Box meals for residents and volunteers.  An amazing day with moving statements by YSA leaders and volunteers, as well as religious leaders, city council members, and the mayors of Berkeley and Oakland.

Here’s a photo album by Alex Madonik.
