Welcome to Kehilla Community Synagogue! We’re conveniently located in the GrandLake area of Oakland, easily accessible by public transportation.

Our facility has gathering spaces appropriate for small meetings, intimate classes, larger celebrations, concerts, and events requiring “break-out” rooms.

Facility Details

Sanctuary

 

Seats 285 in moveable chairs and stationary pews. Built-in speaker system, wonderful acoustics.
Our spacious sanctuary has wonderful acoustics, making it perfect for concerts, weddings, lectures and other special events

Social Hall

Our Social Hall can accommodate 160 people seated at tables, with room for several buffet tables. It has direct access to our outside patio which holds up to 30 people seated, as well as a “pass-through” counter to our kitchen.  This is wonderful space for wedding receptions and other special events.

Fireside Room

Our Fireside Room can hold up to 40 people, and is suited to meetings, classes and small receptions. This room also doubles as the Fireside Gallery, our place to exhibit our members’ works of art.

Classrooms

In addition to the Fireside Room, we have four other classrooms available to rent for classes, small groups, and meetings. These classrooms can accommodate up to 30 people in each room with tables and chairs. Each classroom has a dry erase board.

Kitchen

Our Kitchen has the layout and equipment of a commercial kitchen, but it is not licensed by the health department. It is available for rent for private, non-commercial and non-profit use. It has a Wolf 4-burner stove, a Wolf griddle, two ovens, a commercial refrigerator, a full size freezer, and a commercial dishwasher/sanitizer.

What does it cost to rent Kehilla’s facility?

The cost of renting our facility depends on many interdependent factors, such as the particular space(s), the date and time, whether we have staff already on site or whether we have to bring them in just for your event, the amount of set-up and clean-up, and whether our discount for Kehilla members applies.
