VIRTUAL: Spring Holiday Arc for Rookies 2023
(And we are all rookies)
Title: Spring Holiday Arc for Rookies (and we are all rookies)
Taught by: Rabbi SAM Luckey
Weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9pm ONLINE
Join Rabbi SAM for this ONLINE ONLY seven (7) course session starting just after Passover and ending just after Shavuot. The Jewish holiday cycle has two great arcs, one in the summer and fall around the High Holy Days, and one in the winter and spring, culminating in Shavuot, the all-night celebration of receiving the Torah. Starting with the tree sap rising of Tu b’Shvat, the ‘birthday of the trees,’ moving to Purim, Passover, the Counting of the Omer, and Shavuot, we will learn about these festive days – their lore and customs and their connections to each other. Each week will include time for personal reflection and we will count the Omer together.
This class is geared towards people who are newer to this sacred cycle, including folks in or interested in the conversion and adult b’ mitzvah programs, and anyone who wants to dig deeper into the sacred rhythms of the season.
