Join us in the Kehilla Social Hall for a Queer and Trans Intergenerational Shabbat on November 20, when Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) falls on Shabbat. Queer and Trans people and those that love them are invited for a community Shabbat, potluck and opportunity to meet new people and learn about and commemorate TDoR.
We’ll light candles, bless juice or wine and challah and feast together. We will have a special blessing for trans, non-binary, and gender expansive youth. There will be time for intergenerational conversation and for meeting and connecting with people. Rabbi Dev and Rabbi SAM will lead our TDoR commemoration.
This is a community built event, we are looking for people to sign up for the following roles:
- Bringing Challah (gluten and gluten free)
- Bringing wine, sides, salad & deserts
- Leading Shabbat Prayers
- Planning & cooking the main dish in the Kehilla Kitchen
- Set up
- Clean up
- And more!
The night will be lightly facilitated with questions encouraging Queer and Trans people of different generations to meet, mingle and learn from each other.
