Interfaith Harvest Gathering through Zoom
2020 Hindsight: Lessons from a Year of Pandemic
Each fall for the past 15 years, Muslims, Jews and Christians in the Oakland area have come together for a giant potluck meal to celebrate the harvest season and build friendships and bridges between our communities. This year, we will come together over Zoom to share blessings, discussions, song, and teachings.
This year, the theme of our event will be: What Lessons have we Learned from the Pandemic that we wish to Carry Forward into the Future?
Register here: http://mpcfamily.org/harvest
We are also soliciting recipes from each tradition to share. If you wish, email a recipe for a vegetarian dish that is a favorite in your family, or something from your tradition or faith. Include a photo of the dish if you like, and photos of the dish being prepared are also welcome. We will compile all the recipes and make them available to everyone who attends. Main dishes, sides dishes, salads, desserts, and special drinks are all welcome. No alcohol please. We won’t be eating together this year but we can enjoy each other’s recipes! Sending a recipe is optional.
Free event, register HERE. Invitations to register will be sent out through Kehilla, the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California, Montclair Presbyterian Church, Lighthouse Mosque and Temple Sinai.
