IN-PERSON: Essentials of Judaism Winter 2022

Taught by: Rabbi Dev Noily


Join Rabbi Dev for this seven week IN-PERSON only course for a deep dive into some of the juiciest parts of Jewish practice and life. This class, or a comparable Intro to Judaism class, is required for Conversion Students and is open to all.

All seven (7) Sessions will meet weekly EVERY Monday from 7:00-9:00pm.

Dates are as follows:

  • Mon., December 19

The topics that are expected to be covered are as follows:

  • What is Judaism, Anyway?
  • Lashon Kodesh – Hebrew as a Holy Language
  • Mapping the Texts – Sacred Sources
  • Touching the Source – Prayer & Liturgy
  • Cycles of Jewish Sacred Time
  • The Jewish Life Cycle
  • Walking the Path – Halacha and post-Halachic Judaisms
  • Being a Jew in the 21st Century

Students are required to attend all sessions***:

Cost: Members – $198.00 for all sessions
Non-Members – $234.00 for all sessions

Effective December 1 – This new protocol is designed to decrease the possibility that the COVID, Flu or RSV virus spread at Kehilla.

  1. Anyone experiencing ANY symptoms of potentially contagious illness should remain at home and access Kehilla events virtually, regardless of vaccination status or even if you have received a negative COVID test result.
  2. Everyone attending a program, event, service or meeting held at Kehilla must stay current on all COVID vaccines and boosters, though we will no longer ask for proof upon entry. We encourage everyone to take a rapid antigen test before coming to Kehilla.
  3. All in-person attendees are expected to be masked indoors when not eating: N95, KN95, KF94 or comparable mask required.

In keeping with our health and safety protocols, Kehilla will provide maximum air filtration and ventilation. Doors and windows will be opened whenever possible.
