Title: Community of Practice: Leaning In, Together
Facilitated by: Rabbi SAM Luckey & Aaron Vanderwerff
Interested in trying on Jewish spiritual practices, but not sure where to start? Join our peer-facilitated and rabbi-informed Community of Practice to explore what feels meaningful for you. We will meet in-person at Kehilla one Tuesday a month, from 7 – 9 pm, and folks will meet in chevruta (pairs or small groups) once in between.
Jewish tradition is full of blessings, rituals, and prayers, but they may not always feel accessible or relevant to modern Jews. Using an experiential learning cycle, we will learn about and experiment with daily and weekly practices from Jewish traditions and reflect on how the process impacted us.
Whether you’re looking to incorporate regular Jewish practice into your life for the first time, or are interested in exploring new aspects of Jewish tradition, this is an opportunity to engage in community to learn and reflect with intention.
In each learning cycle we will:
- Whole Group – Learn about multiple practices for a specific moment (e.g. waking up in the morning or shabbat)
- Individually – Try a practice on over a period of a month
- Chevruta – Discuss our experience to deepen our practice and our learning
- Whole Group – Reflect on what it was like to engage in the practice and the process
