IN-PERSON: Ceasefire Pilgrimage – via Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity

March 23 @ 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Join us on Sat., March 23 for an interfaith pilgrimage for ceasefire in Gaza as we join the Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity.

With our bodies, we will be mapping Gaza onto the East Bay, channeling our collective grief and rage into prayerful action as we pilgrimage together as an interfaith community and call for an immediate and sustained ceasefire in Gaza. while also advocating for our 4 objectives:

  • Enduring and Sustained Ceasefire, Immediate Flow of Life-Saving, Aid Release of All Hostages, and the End of Occupation for a Just Peace;
  • This pilgrimage will be a daylong, 22-mile walk, broken into 5 shorter legs and marking the distance from Gaza City to the Rafah crossing refugee camp. It will begin at 7am in Berkeley (at Cesar Chavez Park, Berkeley) and end at 7pm in Alameda and include scheduled stops along the way for prayer and action;
  • We have created a 1.5 mile communal walk at noon, from Buddhist Church in Oakland to First Congregational Church in Oakland – culminating in a community ritual and press conference. If your time is limited or you’d like to join for only one portion, we encourage you to consider participation with Leg 3.
  • Open to people of all faith backgrounds or none, the event embraces the tradition of sacred pilgrimage traditions, inviting participation in prayer, liturgy, and ritual.
