High Holy Days for Rookies

Monday, August 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:45 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Monday, repeating until Monday, September 20, 2021

Taught by: Rabbi SAM Luckey

From Elul (the month before Rosh Hashanah) through Sukkot (the harvest festival after Yom Kippur) and Simchat Torah (the party for finishing and renewing the Torah reading cycle), Judaism goes big for this annual waterfall of holy times. What is it all about? This will be a class — with optional additional time for shared personal reflection — for learning about, preparing for, and experiencing the High Holy Days. This class is especially geared towards people who are newer to this sacred cycle, including folks in or interested in the conversion and adult bar/bat mitzvah programs.

Monday evenings from 7 to 8:45 pm for 7 sessions (including a session between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and a session on the first night of Sukkot)

Dates:

  • July 26th
  • August 2nd, 9th, (NOT 16th), 23rd, 30th
  • September 13th, 20th

You are welcome to register for just one class or the full series.

Costs:

  • Members – $150 for the entire series (or $21 per single session)
  • Non-Members – $170 for the entire series (or $24 per single session)

*No one turned away for lack of ability to pay; please pay what you can at registration or $0.
