Kehilla Community Synagogue

Read, listen and learn.  Discuss.  Consider what is to be done.


Plymouth congregant Ji Seon Song will share knowledge from her experience as a Public Defender, demonstrating how criminal justice reform begins at the local level

What issues appear to be getting focus now?

  • Legislation regarding treatment and conditions for incarcerated pregnant women
  • Neglect of Mental Health problems outside/inside the jails; Solitary/isolation; the building of a Mental Health Jail
  • Community engagement with the Sheriff’s Office: advocating for humane treatment within the jail, linking folks with services while incarcerated, and ensuring those linkages to services transition after release

Possible Actions: Prayer. Connect statewide sister churches and synagogues. Participate in local/state Hearings. Letter-write. Meet with Legislators. Outreach. Plan. Conduct Research. Speak/Share.
