Chochmat HaLev is looking for an onsite building manager. The building manager (or managers) is responsible for overall upkeep of the Chochmat Halev building and grounds, for set up and clean-up for events and classes and management of building rentals. In exchange, the caretaker may inhabit the 3 bedroom apartment as a condition of employment. The apartment may not be sublet.
Duties include facility management, set up for congregational & rental events, building maintenance and repairs, basic gardening, light cleaning, ensuring the safety & security of the building and grounds and management of building rentals; Averages 130 hours/month.
Requirements: Responsible, reliable and flexible; Able to work with a variety of people; Able to lift and move 70 pounds; Available weekends & evenings; Able to work with minimal direction; Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, appliances, painting & plumbing; computer literate. Able to follow oral instructions and communicate in English; Respect and sensitivity for religious practices.
Chochmat HaLev is a Jewish congregation and meditation center located in Berkeley, Ca. Jewish background or knowledge of Jewish practices is not required.
