A Note from Sasha Gottfried, Communications Coordinator

SASHA5-15 Dear Kehilla Friends,

I am writing this note with tears in my eyes, as I prepare to retire from my position as Communications Cooordinator at Kehilla after serving the community for over 18 years!  What an incredible ride it has been!

When I first came to work at Kehilla in 1998, the office consisted of two small rooms upstairs at Northbrae Church in Berkeley, and services were held downstairs. After attending my first service at Kehilla, I knew I had found not only a job, but a spiritual home. The depth of the services, the beauty of the music, and the warmth of the leaders, staff, and community brought me back to my Jewish roots after a long hiatus.  And little did I know then that Kehilla would blossom into becoming an even more vital community, with its very own building that has allowed it to grow and flourish.

I have been thrilled to serve this community, with its commitment to both creating a meaningful spirituality and to healing the world.  I am so appreciative of all the many kindnesses I have experienced, and for the wonderful and dedicated people I’ve met and with whom I have had the honor to work.  My heart is filled with gratitude.  Although I am leaving my staff position here, I am looking forward to being part of the Kehilla community, and to staying in touch with you all, for many years to come.

With love and appreciation,

Sasha
