Transitions: A Message from Sandra Razieli

Dear Kehilla Community,
As many of you know, I moved to Maui a year ago but have continued to direct the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program with the amazing assistance of Youth Programs Coordinator Natalie Boskin. Beginning July 1, Rabbi Gray Myrseth will be taking over my role. Over the course of several months, Rabbi Gray and I have been working together behind the scenes to prepare for this transition. I am thrilled to be passing on the leadership of the program to such capable hands. Rabbi Gray’s knowledge, dedication and enthusiasm is exactly what this program needs to continue to grow and thrive.. Rabbi Gray will be assisted by the Natalie Boskin and I’ll continue to be available for consultation.

This is a bittersweet moment for me as I have been on staff at Kehilla for many years. In the fall of 2000, I was a graduate student looking for a little side work. Someone told me that Kehilla School was looking for teachers. At that time I was teaching a university class on modern Jewish identities. I loved being Jewish and had a good knowledge of Jewish subjects but I never enjoyed participating in Jewish institutions. That changed the moment I walked into Kehilla; I felt it was a place where I, along with my questions and concerns about socio-political matters, would be welcome. Since that time, I’ve served as an educator, Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program Director and Spiritual Leader. It’s been a supreme joy to have helped guide hundreds of people to go through powerful life passages. Thank you!

I plan to stay in Maui for an indefinite period of time. While I live far away, I still feel very much part of Kehilla and am proud to be a lifelong member. I cherish the connections that I have made over the years with and I look forward to continued connections. . I invite you to follow my work as a movement educator and hear stories about Maui through my website www.raziyoga.com You can also sign up here to receive short videos and blogs. I also welcome questions about Maui. Come visit!

With Aloha,
Sandra Razieli
