Every service we take time to pray the Amida in silence, the Standing Prayer. This morning, in lieu of a Torah study, we will do a Prayer-study: What is the Amida? Why is a silent prayer considered the central prayer of every service? Why these blessings in particular and what do they mean? Why do the Amida blessings change from service to service? After prayers of music and meditation we will explore the Amida.
