הנינו – Hineinu – Here We Are – This service will be held via Zoom.
Selichot is our portal into the Days of Awe and the process of teshuva, of turning inward with love and curiosity to face ourselves with clarity and truth. Selichot limbers up our ability to ask for forgiveness.
On Selichot, we change our Torah mantles from their year-round ones to their special white ones for High Holy Days. It has also been our practice to tie a white string to our wrists, to serve as a reminder of this holy time, and as a visible sign of our practice through Yom Kippur. If you can, find a piece of white string or yarn (cooking twine works, so does dental floss!) and bring it with you to your Selichot practice spot. Whether you’re practicing solo or with others, we’ll explore ways of doing this ritual that can work for us all!
Special Note: We have added Zoom registration to public virtual services as a security step. You can register before a meeting or right when you join – it takes less than a minute – and will be given automatic access to the meeting once you have both in the registration window and as an email. Please email Elle with any questions!
