|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every 2 weeks that begins at 7:30 pm on Sunday, repeating until Sunday, April 11, 2021

One event on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 7:30 pm

The third part of this series is designed for those who desire to get friendly and familiar with this precious language. New students are welcome! All you need is some familiarity with the Hebrew letters and vowels and a desire to know more. New students should be in touch with Bracha to make sure that this is a good fit for you, at stone.betty@gmail.com.

In the first part of each hour we’ll enjoy a part of the Kehilla Saturday morning siddur (prayerbook),studying short phrases and songs with a beginner’s eye to understanding the underlying grammar and to building our prayer vocabulary. We will sing along to familiar and some unfamiliar melodies.

In the second part of the hour we will continue to work with the text “Lashon HaKodesh”. Bracha will emphasize answering all questions, relaying “rules” helpful to decoding and providing some practice of reading from the text.

This time the classes will be every other Sunday, to provide time for independent or chevruta study of the textbook exercises.

Dates: Sundays – Feb. 7, Feb. 21, March 7, and March 21. Please hold April 11 also, which we’ll only use in case one of the earlier classes is cancelled; there will be 4 sessions TOTAL.

Time: 7:30-8:30 pm

Cost for Members: $47 payable to Kehilla for 4 sessions plus potential study hall/office hours
Cost for Non-Members: $60 payable to Kehilla for 4 sessions plus potential study hall/office hours
Plus a workbook that costs $15, ordered separately*
