Kehilla Annual Community Passover Seder 2013/5773

March 30, 2013 @ 4:45 pm - 8:30 pm

PASSOVER SEDERLed by Rabbis David J. Cooper, Rabbi Burt Jacobson, & Diane Elliot

Uncertainty, Peace & Justice:   A Passover Journey

The Exodus story demonstrates the folly of too much certainty. The central characters in the story—Pharaoh, God, and eventually Moses—all of them act as if they were certain about where they are and what they will do to ensure the necessary outcomes each of them seeks. In their certainty they fail to consider any alternatives to their chosen line of action. In the process they make slavery, struggle and violence inevitable. As we, through our actions, write the Torah story of our era, do we want a Torah of certainty and hubris, or a Torah of non-violence, justice and peace?

This year we are featuring a delicious catered Fleischig (dairy-free) Kosher-style meal

  • Your favorite holiday ritual foods: Matzoh Ball Soup, Gefilte Fish & Charoses
  • Choice of chicken or vegetarian entree
  • Grape juice provided; you are welcome to bring your own Passover wine.

Pre-registration is required.
