Intergenerational Activist Gathering at Kehilla

February 18, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join the Resistance! A Workshop for Intergenerational and Congregational Response to the New Political Reality

There will be a panel discussion with:

Julie Aronowitz: Currently doing work with Faith in Action, OCO’s sister organization in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties

Rabbi David Cooper: Kehilla Rabbi, involved in many activist organizations

Rochelle Towers: Activist for many many years, currently organizer and facilitator  with White Awake

Etta Washburn: A young person from the Kehilla School and who we are so proud to present. She is already calling herself an activist!

The panelists will discuss the relationship between their Judaism and their activism, focusing particularly on the sustainability of activist work over time.

We will then move into small intergenerational groups to introduce ourselves to each other, talk about what we are doing, what we see as our focus given the new administration and political realities in our country, and where we see opportunities for faith, ritual, community and other parts of Jewish life to support activism, and vice versa.

In the Social Hall.

We need more help with set up and clean up at the end and also with some snacks and non alcoholic drinks.

If you have questions or want to/can help with setup ( which will start at least half an hour or more before the start of the event at 4).

If you have questions or want to/can help with setup or cleanup, please email  Dvora at dvoragee@gmail.com or Eva at evaoakland@earthlink.net.
