How To Prepare for an Attempted Coup, an Intergenerational Training

Thursday, October 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

As the election nears, many of us are concerned that its results will not be honored. This training will give us the skills we need to prepare ourselves to fight for election justice. Using techniques drawn from labor and community organizing, we’ll learn how to support each other through uncertain times, communicate in a way that sparks empowerment instead of demoralization, have conversations with people in our lives, and build a team of trusted friends that can mobilize quickly and take meaningful action. Learn about Bay Resistance and other local and national organizing networks that we can plug into in the days, weeks and months to come.

This training is free and for EVERYONE: you don’t need to be an activist, participate in street actions, or even leave your home.

The training will be facilitated by Sara Shor of GreenFaith, Lilliana Dodson, Sam Saxe-Taller and Satya Zamudio of Jewish Youth for Community Action and Patricia St Onge of 1000 Grandmothers for Future Generations and includes grounding in both Jewish experience and the issues facing youth and elders. We are drawing from the trainings of Choose Democracy, Hold the Line, and Bay Resistance.

Register and join us here.

NOTE: This workshop focuses on organizing skills. It is not a direct action or legal know-your-rights training, and it will not explore specific scenarios for what might happen after election day.

We recommend downloading the latest version of Zoom if you are able. You can also find instructions for updating Zoom here.
