Heritage Trip for Personal and Collective Liberation!

October 8 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This Summer, new Kehilla member, Matt Leber, went to Poland and Ukraine to reconnect with his roots, meet family, and dance to Klezmer music!  Additionally, Matt went with the specific intent to reverse/recover from the impacts of assimilation, reclaim culture and understand more about “how his people became white”.  During this week of Sukkot, a time that we call on the presence of our ancestors, Matt will share stories and photos about his travels, share reflections on the connection to our past and the fight for justice in our current moment.  There will be some discussion and time for question and answer.

Some questions Matt was exploring:
Who were my people, where were they from, customs and why did they leave?
How did my people “become white”?
How do I share what I discover?

Planning to attend?  RSVP on Facebook – Take some time in the days before this presentation and learn more about YOUR people.  Do you know where they lived? Their language and customs?  When and why did they emigrate?  Where did they emigrate too?
