“Al Helm the Dream – Martin Luther King in Palestine”
Join the the Middle East Peace Committee for a unique and powerful cultural exchange as we follow an African American Gospel choir on their journey to the West Bank where they work with the Palestinian National Theatre on a play about Martin Luther King and witness firsthand the realities of Palestinian life under Israeli Occupation. The film is a moving tribute to nonviolent civil disobedience as we commemorate the 49th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King and prepare to challenge 50 years of Israeli Occupation.
Post-film discussion with Connie Field, the Academy Award nominated director and Clayborne Carson, Stanford Professor who wrote the MLK Play featured in the film.
$10-20 Donation (No one turned away) to Benefit the Center for Jewish Nonviolence (which is the group that Rabbi David is going to Israel/Palestine with in May).
