Embodied Activism: Preparing ourselves and our communities for the coming changes

and Maggid Jonathan Furst, Spiritual Facilitator for Keneset HaLev

How can we become more effective organizers and peacemakers? Come learn & practice techniques to increase our abilities to embody our highest values in responding to this political-spiritual moment.

Drawing from modern and ancient activist wisdom, we will:

  • Reveal strategies of nonviolent direct action embedded in Hebrew & Christian
  • Examine our personal values, capacities and resources for creating positive change
  • Run scenarios to practice interrupting violence and dealing with haters
  • Embolden ourselves and each other as upstanders

This event aims to engage the body, enliven the heart, recognize grief, sharpen the mind,

relieve physical stress, and inspire!

Suggested Donation: $10-$15 to help cover travel expenses. $2 for kids.

Minister Sarah Thompson is the Executive Director of Christian Peacemaker Teams, a multi-faith organization that places violence-reduction teams in crisis situations and militarized areas at the invitation of local peace and human rights workers.

 

 

Maggid Jonathan Furst is an organizer, outdoor educator/nature-connection mentor, ritual artist and the Spiritual Facilitator for Keneset HaLev – Community of the Heart.

Presented by Kehilla Community Synagogue, Christian Peacemaker Teams, and Keneset HaLev. Co-sponsors include the Aquarian Minyan, Jewitch Collective, and Yeshiva Derech HaEretz/Way of the Earth.
