Kehilla’s conversion group is the communal portion of a process of individual inquiry that each participant anticipates will lead to adopting Judaism. Kehilla’s spiritual leaders, Rabbi Dev Noily and Sharon Grodin, are available to guide participants in their reading, selection of classes, and experiences that inform their education toward discernment about this decision. The group is not an “introduction to Judaism” class, but rather a forum where participants reflect on and share insights about the studies and experiences each is undertaking within Kehilla and elsewhere.
The group meets once a month for 1-1/2 hours, which typically includes some learning together and responding to each others’ questions. Because this group is intended to support conversion in the context of Kehilla community, after the first two sessions participants are expected to decide whether Kehilla is a good fit for them; if so, participants will become members, and if not, participants will be supported in finding an alternative for their conversion studies.
Dates: The third Monday of every month
Cost: No charge (but see above about membership)
