Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Hanukkah

Sunday, December 5, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

8th Night of Hanukkah – In person in the Kehilla Courtyard

Dear Kehilla Black, Indigenous, People of Color and their Partners, Parents and Siblings,

Who is this for? BIPOC/JOC adults, families, children and their white parents, partners and siblings are welcome to join. Please bring your favorite Hanukkah/Menorah to light the first candle in a community of love!

It’s been almost two years since we were able to gather and share latkes together –  we’ve missed you!

Where: Kehilla Courtyard. All access to the event will be through the Grand Avenue (bus stop) Entrance. For the event, eating, and mingling will largely take place in the courtyard.

Parking:  Please park in the parking lot or on Grand Avenue, so we can keep on good terms with our neighbors on Fairview.

Activities: Our very own Bekkah Sharf will be offering the prayers this evening. We’ll have Hanukkah activities and dreidels enough for young and old. We’ll also provide a few tables inside the building with supplies and activities for our youngest members.

Potluck! We will provide the latkes, applesauce and sour cream. Please feel free to bring yummy food and beverages from your traditions to share. We will gather and eat outside under the tents and the stars, so bundle up!

What about COVID Guidelines

Everyone is required to wear a mask inside or outside the building except while eating and drinking. Please follow this link for Kehillia’s COVID policy.

Everyone attending any program, event, service or meeting held at Kehilla (indoor or outdoor) is required to be vaccinated and will be asked to show evidence upon entry.

Those who are not yet eligible for vaccination or who have a medical condition that prevents them from being vaccinated will get a rapid COVID test and will be admitted if it is negative.

Masks will continue to be required for all participants, except leaders who may be unmasked while leading and will take a rapid antigen test beforehand.

A temporary exception will be made for rentals that serve children. Unvaccinated youth under 12 will be exempt from the testing requirement until seven weeks after vaccines become available. They will need to wear masks at all times.

We ask that families with children who cannot be vaccinated arrive 15 minutes early to take an antigen test prior to going in.

It’s been so long since we gathered, we are asking folks to register early so we can be sure we have safe space for all of us to roam around.

We look forward to sharing time with you and your people!

All events at Kehilla are scent-free. Click here for information about what it means to be scent-free.
