Beginning Hebrew: Decode the Alef-Bet, Part 2, plus prayers!

Join Bracha Stone for the next part in a series designed for those who desire to get friendly and familiar with this precious language. If you have SOME knowledge of the alef-bet, this may be the right place for you. We have made a start, and are working through our book at a moderate pace; the second half of each session will focus on a prayer or phrase, looking at both grammar and meaning in order to deepen our experience when we encounter that bit of Hebrew.

Classes will be held via Zoom

Dates: Sundays – Nov. 22, Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, and please hold Dec. 20 only if needed in case of earlier cancellation; there will be 4 sessions TOTAL, with the possibility of study hall/office hours with Bracha on two Tuesday evenings tba.

Time: 7:20-8:45pm

•If you have absolutely NO knowledge of Hebrew, this is the right place for you.

•If you want to remember and renew your relationship to Hebrew this is the right place for you.

•If you are drawn to Queer Talmud Camp and knowledge of the Aleph-Bet is an obstacle, this is the right place for you.

•The good news is that Hebrew, unlike English, is amazingly phonetic, has fewer letters and simpler vowels.

•The even better news is that the first step into this language is an immersion into the mystery and beauty of each letter and each word. No need to become an expert to start to love this language.
